The plant can be operated with any combination of Frame 7EA, LM6000(s), and duct firing. With all seven gas turbines on line at an ambient temperature of 80 F, the plant can ramp between 60 MW and 435 MW in 15 minutes (a ramp rate of 25 MW per minute). The plant is capable of reaching full peaking mode of more than 550 MW in
an additional 10 minutes. Cycling duty plant design features allow synchronization of all six LM6000s within 45 minutes
of a start up notice. Exceptional start up response and rapid ramping are high value operating characteristics of the plants proprietary technology. Each unit is equipped with an advanced voltage regulator and speed governor and each unit is available for automatic generation control (AGC). The Kinder Morgan Power, Jackson Michigan facility capabilities provide significant real-time market opportunity for the tolling customer participating in the Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO) market.
