KMLP is planning to build a pipeline that will provide much needed, clean-burning natural gas to various delivery points in Cameron, Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis, Acadia and Evangeline Parishes. The project will provide Louisiana and the nation with greater flexibility in responding to fuel demands. It will also offer access to the nation's natural gas pipeline grid for new supplies of gas.

Pipelines are vital to our energy transportation infrastructure and support our nation’s businesses, industries and commerce. Pipelines transport two-thirds of the United States’ demand for crude oil, natural gas, gasoline, jet fuel, chemicals and other petroleum products; and no other transportation modes fill this role as safely, economically or as efficiently.
