Overview
Kinder Morgan’s Vancouver Wharves Terminal is one of North America's dominant deep-sea terminals, located on the north shore of the Port of Vancouver's main harbor. Our virtually new terminal offers a variety of both in- and out-bound services for bulk and break-bulk shippers moving product to and from all regions of Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
The terminal is ideally located for both rail and highway traffic. We receive railcars directly from CN Rail and via interchanges from CP and Burlington Northern Santa Fe. We're within five-minutes of the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy. 1).
Our modern facilities include five deep-sea berths (with wharf frontage of 900 meters), 45 hectares of land, tracks for up to 400 railcars, and storage facilities for a variety of products. We handle mineral concentrates, pulp and paper, liquids, sulphur, fertilizers and agri-products. We also have five hectares of land, inside the loop tracks, available for development.

Agri-Products
Kinder Morgan’s Vancouver Wharves Terminal provides unique, dedicated facilities and services for the agri-products industry. This new terminal opened in the spring of 2000.
Our facility is specially designed for bulk exports of fragile products such as human-consumption peas, lentils and chickpeas, malt, and various "hard-to-handle" feed products including large hay cubes, alfalfa pellets and cubes, and canola meal.
The design, and unit-train capabilities of our facility also make it perfect for shipping large volumes of identity-preserved grains.
The terminal is the only facility on North America's west coast to offer soft-handling right from railcar to the ship's hold. The entire plant, including specially designed "bean-ladder" equipped storage and small-drop transfers, has been custom built to maintain product condition.
Third-party analysis shows that unloading yellow peas from railcars into our storage bins, storage and subsequent loading to a ship, increases the splits by only 0.1 percent. When it comes to soft-handle, we're the best on the coast!
We're also the cleanest terminal on the coast. Kinder Morgan Vancouver Wharves is the only grain-handling facility to have been awarded a Triple A (AAA) Canadian Grain Commission cleanliness rating, an achievement we continue to maintain.

Mineral Concentrates
Kinder Morgan’s Vancouver Wharves Terminal offers the premiere mineral trans-loading facility on North America's west coast. With both ship loading and unloading capabilities, the terminal serves the needs of some of the world's largest mining companies.
Environmental care is first and foremost at Kinder Morgan Vancouver Wharves. Our concentrates facilities are fully enclosed to ensure the cleanest handling possible.
Additionally, we collect and treat all the water used on our site, including even rainfall. The water is cleaned in sophisticated, modern treatment facilities before being released back into the ocean.
The terminal boasts the only permanent unloading crane in the Port of Vancouver, and we have enclosed facilities for both loading and unloading railcars. We can also receive product by truck.
