The pictures to the left show burner flames of both fuel oil and natural gas. Natural gas has a more consistent flame and needs less oxygen to burn than fuel oil. Hence, natural gas is significantly more efficient than fuel oil or diesel. Greater efficiency equals lower energy costs by reducing fuel use and electricity needs.
LNG is clean and energy-dense fuel source that can result in reduced operational and maintenance costs. In fact, the use of natural gas can lead to an operational savings of as much as $1.00 an asphalt ton or equal to $0.30 per gallon (#4 fuel oil gallon equivalent). This savings is the result of natural gas not being impacted by water content and other contaminants challenges associated with fuel oils that can cause soot buildup lowering burner efficiency and increase fuel consumption.
Mobile LNG tanks and vaporizers require minimal site preparation. This “virtual pipeline” is ideal for seasonal operations. Equipment can be provided to the customer at no cost thus eliminating capital expense.
Kinetrex also offers temporary natural gas service that serve as a “bridge” for operations. When natural gas supply is constrained or not yet available from the utility, the Kinetrex mobile “virtual pipeline” is the solution. Kinetrex delivers LNG to the customer’s site, which is held in temporary on-site storage and vaporized with mobile regasification systems.
Kinetrex field services manages the installation of permanent LNG storage and vaporization systems. The experienced field services team help make it simple to switch from propane, diesel or waist oil fuel when converting boilers, dryers, heaters, power generators to run on LNG.
Kinetrex has helped our customers convert their asphalt operations to run on LNG allowing for significant fuel savings.
Kinder Morgan is the largest provider of LNG to the Midwest and is connected to four major interstate natural gas pipelines. The company operates two manufacturing plants which provide 24 million LNG gallons of storage capacity; a plentiful supply that eliminates fuel shortage concerns. Kinder Morgan has four truck loading stations operating 24/7 that can load up to 96 trucks each day and four trucks simultaneously.
Remote monitoring allows access to tank levels, dispatching deliveries as needed. Our mobile app provides real-time LNG system and delivery data to the customer anywhere, anytime.
