Kinder Morgan Attends 2025 Texas Energy Day at the Capitol

As a leading producer of oil and natural gas, Texas plays a critical role in ensuring our nation’s energy security through reliable and affordable energy resources. Legislation at the state level impacts the feasibility and constructability of the new projects required to maintain Texas’ energy dominance. With that in mind, the Texas Oil and Gas Association hosts Texas Energy Day at the Capitol, a biannual event where energy professionals come together to educate legislators about the importance of the work they do.

This year, a group of eight Kinder Morgan (KMI) employees from various departments attended the event.
“Representing Kinder Morgan at Texas Energy Day is valuable because it allows us to engage with policymakers about our projects,” said KMI Chief Commercial Officer of Texas Intrastate Pipelines Larry Bell. “As demand for natural gas and energy continues to grow, it’s crucial to remind representatives that they hold the power to either simplify or complicate our efforts to provide affordable and reliable energy.”

During the event, the KMI group met with staff from several state representatives to share the important work we do as a company to support Texas’ energy needs as well as those of surrounding states. The group also discussed the additional projects needed to support rising power, industrial and LNG demand.

“I think it’s important to establish these relationships so when energy-related legislation comes up, they have the opportunity to reach out to someone to understand potential impacts to our business,” said KMI Director of Intrastate Pipeline Marketing and Transportation Rebecca Mack. “Given the importance of power generation as Texas continues to grow, I focused on the importance of our Texas Intrastate assets, noting that we serve about 25,000 megawatts of power generation.”

KMI really enjoyed participating in this year’s Texas Energy Day and looks forward to attending again in the future.
